Checkers Checkerburger Review:
Price Paid: $1.99 | Company: Checkers/Rally’s
This is Checkers bread and butter; the Checkerburger. It features a smorgasbord of ingredients that make it up. But is it tasty and worth the money? Let’s dive into it!
Look:
Not sure how all the condiments (mostly mayo) end up all over the place. Pretty sloppy looking to say the least. The shredded lettuce looks old, and also there doesn’t seem to be much of it. The burger features a thick tomato and red onion (which I think is a good sign of quality). The sesame-seed bun had a nice toast on the underside. The build includes:
- Sesame-seed bun
- Mayo, ketchup, mustard
- Pickles
- Red onion
- Shredded lettuce
- Tomato
- Beef patty
Taste (8.5/10):
Although this burger looks like a fast food burger, it doesn’t taste like one. The Checkerburger is the epitome of a burger, you get a ton of condiments, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, maybe some cheese, and a well-seasoned beef patty. I think Checkers didn’t change a good thing by offering this burger.
The meat was seasoned well, juicy and tasteful. The red onion slice adds a dimension of flavor without it being too harsh to the overall burger (balance is key here). The pickle and mustard follow through with some acidity. The negative is that the lettuce was soggy (gross) and a number of condiments (mostly mayo) were too much. Other than that I think it makes a great fast food burger.
Value (8.2/10):
I don’t think the Checkerburger is too expensive at $1.99. There is a lot of produce on this burger which can account for a lot of the cost. The meat could be a little bigger in my opinion. More lettuce would be nice but I know this was an isolated experience (our Bacon Checkerburger had a lot more of it). Good deal none-the-less.

Doing so will make this a good option if you’re craving a burger while on a diet and pressed for time. Would you like cheese with that? Consider saying no as you can increase the calorie count by 60 or so.
